Our Team

In addition to being the president of Doner-Horsley, Rick is the commercial accounts specialist. With over 25 years of insurance experience.  Rick has extensive knowledge of the products that insurance companies have to offer. Rick will customize policies for contractors, building owners, farmers, manufacturers and retailers. Doner-Horsley can also provide professional liability such as Errors and Omissions and Directors and Officers Insurance.

Rick is married to Kim and they have four children and four grandchildren. In his spare time Rick enjoys fishing, golf and hockey. Rick is also involved with his local church.

Blaire is a life long resident of the area, a graduate of Seneca College and holds the position of Vice President of Doner-Horsley. Blaire is a Registered Insurance Broker with her Accredited Insurance Brokers Certification.  Blaire is a very familiar face to most of the locals as she along side her husband Laurie, purchased and ran LB Petroleum and Convenience Store on Hwy 89 for 15 years which was previously run by Blaire’s family for 22 years.

Blaire’s direction, confidence and organizational skills ensure that all of our clients and staff are treated with the utmost respect, efficiency and professionalism. In Blaire’s limited spare time, she and her husband Laurie enjoy spending time with their two sons Dale and Dan, travelling, sports and entertaining.

Dale recently joined Doner-Horsley and is excited about his return to Alliston. He has been working in the insurance industry for 23 years beginning in his home town of Alliston. For the past 7 years he worked with a major insurance company in the GTA. He is pleased to be returning to Alliston renewing old acquaintances and relationships and building new ones. Dale was very active in various Alliston organizations and hopes to once again become involved in his community. His love of hockey has not changed and he is looking forward to catching up with his old teammates, the Hornets and continuing to support the Barrie Colts.

With his extensive experience in the insurance industry Dale takes his customer’s needs seriously and will provide exceptional advice, service and pay attention to detail.

Bruce has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years. He has been a broker and owner of his own brokerage for a number of years in the GTA before selling and moving to the Alliston area. His vast knowledge of commercial insurance and experience allows him to tailor a policy to the specific needs of his customer. From condo corporations, contractors, retail or trucking businesses, Bruce will design a policy that will fit your needs.

Niena keeps the commercial department running smoothly and has been part of the Doner-Horsley team for over 12 years. Having over 25 years of insurance experience allows her to provide prompt, reliable and knowledgeable assistance to our commercial and farm clients. Her behind the scenes work is an invaluable asset to the brokers and clients. Do not hesitate to ask her any questions you might have as she is more than capable of answering the inquiry.

Lois has been employed by Doner-Horsley as a Personal Lines Customer Service specialist for the past 29 years. Lois enjoys  meeting and talking with her clients in order to tailor an insurance policy that will give them the proper coverage at a competitive price. Lois has lived in the Alliston area for over 35 years. In her spare time Lois and her husband Dave enjoy antiquing and spending time at their cottage.

Christeen has been a customer service specialist with Doner-Horsley for the past 35 years. Christeen understands the importance of personal service and she takes great pride in meeting with her clients in person to review their insurance needs. In the complex world of Home and Auto insurance Christeen’s expertise is second to none. Christeen was born and raised in Alliston. She is an active member of Beta Sigma Phi women’s organization. She also enjoys motorcycling with her husband Bill.

Janet has lived in Alliston since 1983 and has been part of the Doner-Horsley team for over 20 years. Janet’s charming personality and knowledge of the automobile and home insurance products allows her to provide professional guidance to all of her clients.  Janet is a registered insurance broker and she is working towards her CAIB designation. You would be doing yourself a favour by having Janet review your insurance needs.

Long-time resident, experienced business owner and farmer, Laurie Hadwen is one of the newest members of our expanding team. Laurie received the highest mark in his Registered Insurance Brokers class of 2011 and honored by his peers for his academic excellence. Laurie is now licensed as a Registered Insurance Broker and with his extensive and varying background in business, his attention to detail and his desire to treat each client as he would expect to be treated himself assures us that you will find him a pleasure to deal with and a broker you will gladly refer to all your friends and colleagues.

Jo-Anne has been a licensed broker for the past 25 years. Most of those years have been as a co-owner of two insurance brokerages, where her duties involved all aspects of the daily business operations and client services. She joined the Doner-Horsley team in 2010, her experience and knowledge is a welcomed asset to the team.

Jo-Anne looks after her client portfolio form the Doner-Horsley office in Beeton. She enjoys the challenges of the industry, and has a refreshing approach finding solutions for her clients.

Jo-Anne is a personal lines insurance specialist (Home & Auto) with a vast knowledge of markets and coverage’s. She has built a loyal client following and encourages anyone interested in obtaining a quote to call her.

In her spare time Jo-Anne enjoys gardening, ATVing, cycling, golf and of course entertaining and spending time with her family and friends.

Colin has been in the insurance industry for 32 years. His experience includes positions as an Independent Property Adjuster, Property & Casualty Niche program creator and administrator, Consultant/Program director for the wholesale insurance industry and founder/co-owner of two insurance brokerages.

Colin is a business/commercial insurance specialist and will prepare a detailed coverage summary of options whether you are just starting a new business or have an established existing business.

He works from the Doner-Horsley office in Beeton along with his wife and business partner Jo-Anne. Together they can manage all the insurance needs for their clients.

In his spare time Colin enjoys golf, ATVing, cycling and is an avid classic car enthusiast.

Chris joined our team in early 2011. Chris attended Georgian College where he successfully completed a Business Administration Course followed by working numerous years in the local family business.  Chris has recently become a Registered Insurance Broker and is a welcome addition to our staff. His prompt and courteous service, warm smile and genuine desire to secure the best coverage and pricing for his new clients will surely have you referring him to your friends and family.

In his spare time Chris enjoys cycling, soccer and sports in general

Steve is married with 3 children and has lived in Alliston since 1999. Originally from Manitoulin Island, Steve attended Wilfred Laurier University and started his Financial Services career in 1987.  Steve spent 17 years in the banking industry where he specialized in Branch Management, Lending and Investing.

In 2004 he became an Independent Financial Planner and established Nexus Financial Resources with his partner, Ron Eaton. Steve has been Mutual Fund licensed since 1988, obtained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1997, became a licensed Mortgage Consultant in 2004, an Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) in 2005 and Life Insurance licensed in 2007.  Steve is also a  Vice President of Doner-Horsley Insurance Brokers Ltd.   Steve is on the Board of Directors of Matthews House Hospice and D.A.R.E. Ontario.

Ron is a long time resident of the area. Born and raised in Parry Sound he has a background with the Coast Guard Search and Rescue and as a large Air Craft Mechanic. Ron is one of Doner-Horsley’s Vice Presidents and holds a Certified Financial Planner designation.  In addition to his designations, Ron brings over 20 years experience in Financial Planning and has developed long term relationships which naturally graduated into friendships with his extensive client base.

His training and experience in estate planning, personal insurances, investments and over seeing his clients overall financial well being makes Ron a valuable resource for the entire Doner-Horsley client base.  In his spare time you will find Ron playing hockey, fishing or travelling with his beautiful wife Anne.

Shirley has lived in the surrounding area for more than 40 years and has a very diverse background which includes being a financial planners assistant, owning an international shipping and commerce business, marketing specialist, property development, author and international speaker on the environment . Her most recent venture being an associate producer in the film documentary business.

Shirley’s diverse background will be a tremendous asset to our clients as she has life experiences in many fields to draw from . Shirley has the ability to make everybody feel at ease and with this comes a genuine desire to ensure that the plan you develop together, is tailored to your unique needs and dreams for your financially sound future.
